With its thirty-six years of existence and its 375 licensees from Castries or from neighboring villages, the Tennis club, chaired by Patrick Jaclot, shows unfailing dynamism and actively participates in the life of the city. With the motto “From leisure to competition”, this continually evolving club, positioned in the scrubland, at the Fondespierre property, has six tennis courts and two padel courts. “On the courts, a child aged 3 who is starting out as well as a competitor aged 50 to 60 with committed teams, and even up to 70 years old, evolve as well”, signifies Bastien, the teacher.
Two days of festivities for all tennis gamers
During the tennis college celebration, Saturday June 19, in the presence of Claudine Vassas-Mejri, the mayor of Castries, Jérôme Cabrol, assistant for neighborhood life and sports activities, and representatives of the club, was inaugurated a bit of wall with a spray-painted fresco by Benjamin, graffiti artist, with the settlement of the city corridor, representing tennis and padel gamers. This nice achievement, which supplies the club extra visibility, was absolutely funded by the Tennis club of Castries. The mayor reaffirmed the help of the municipality.
As for the college celebration, which started on Friday, June 18, it was a powerful success. Bastien and Ken, the coaches, had organized an enormous doubles match for all the grownup college students (about sixty), adopted by a meal.
All day Saturday, at the invitation of the club, all the college kids and their dad and mom had been obtained, with tennis leisure on the program, in addition to an inflatable construction and a catering service.
