Tennis – Ons Jabeur: “I want to be world No. 1”

In the newest version of Players' Voice revealed on Eurosport, the Tunisian tennis star, now twenty fourth participant within the world, Ons Jabeur revealed that she desires to be the number one participant within the world.

“By the end of this year, I would like to get into the top 10 or 15 before aiming beyond. I want to be world No.1 and win Grand Slams, ”she mentioned. “I've played against a lot of great players and that's what gave me the confidence to realize that I really have what it takes to get there. For the moment, I admit that I am not quite there. I have some work to do to find this missing ingredient, but I firmly believe that I can achieve this goal. ”

The Tunisian champion additionally indicated that she is ready for the Tokyo Olympics this summer season to compete within the Olympics with monumental prospects, in accordance to her interview.

“I have been counting the days for a very long time! I've played in London and Rio, but I feel like I'm currently at a level where I can do great things and hope to go far in the competition. The Olympic Games are a tournament like no other. It's not just about winning for yourself as you might be used to, it's about winning for your country, ”Jabeur careworn.

On the opposite hand, the 26-yr-previous tenniswoman despatched a really highly effective message to girls and kids within the Arab world to encourage them to do their greatest.

“I just want to send a very powerful message to women and children: if I have been able to achieve all that I have done so far, coming from a small country and a continent where sport has historically been had little visibility, so others can do the same. Of course it's very important to have as many courts and gyms as possible and I know we don't have the best facilities at the moment. We are not like Europe or the United States, but we are doing our best. You can have the best structures in the world, but it's what's on your mind and how you work that matters most. ”

Injured within the hamstrings through the event in Madrid, Ons Jabeur has already began a restoration program together with her bodily coach earlier than returning to competitors.
