It is in the spring of 2021 that the program “Landaise” of “Roots and wings”, whose crew is currently filming.
“This program will be split into two parts,” explains director Claire Lajeunie. “The first will be devoted to the Arcachon basin and the second is around the Silver Coast, from the Cordouan lighthouse to Hossegor.” For this second part, the Landes will be largely in the spotlight, through different themes: the forest, the large lakes including that of Biscarrosse – also allowing to evoke the history of hydraviation – then the architecture built in Dax and Hossegor.
On Thursday, the cameras were on the façade and the lounges of theAtrium of Dax, after the team turned to splendid and in Dacquoises and Hossegorian villas, with the art historian Kevin laussu, who explained the characteristics of the Basque-Landes style and who highlighted the work of their owners to safeguard them.
As always, the show shows natural and built heritage assets, then opens up on today's initiatives to better preserve and perpetuate them by adapting them to the contemporary era. The team will thus turn to Lake hydrangeas, in Hossegor, the iconic 4-star hotel by the lake, which underwent a complete renovation last year and will then go to the restoration site of the Hotel du golf de Seignosse. Just as the Landes forest will be evoked through ecotourism initiatives.
“Des Racines et des vents”, which was broadcast for the first time in 1997, remains one of the flagship programs of France 3, with nearly two million spectators at each broadcast.
