Yves-Jean Le Bezvoet (photograph) could have two starters, Sunday in Chartres (R-5). He delivered his impressions to our journalist Stéphane Davy :
“For ORANGE EMBLEM (113), everything was decided at the start, the last time in Reims (note, March 31). The starter was not necessarily respected that day. We had to do it five or six times, and in the end we ended up a long way when we left. Then the horse raced. He did a good last lap and was once again courageous to take 4th place. Previously, for its comeback race, the horse had behaved well in Laval (editor’s note, 3rd on March 11). He had been forced to move forward with his nose to the wind that day. It is now better tuned chord on the left. He adapted to it over time. Sunday, they will not be many at his starting rung, which will help him. I find it more efficient on the big rings but it has already arrived on this track in November. He’s able to do the last mile on his own but he’s even better when he can benefit from a backstroke. Of course, he must return the distance. On the other hand, there are 6-year-olds in the race but he retains all my confidence. Regarding his shoe, the last time, he had irons on the forelegs. He will be fitted with them again on Sunday, but with wear and tear, they will be slightly less heavy. He is very flexible at the moment. This year he could run on the grass. With its looks, we can now afford it. It will also be an opportunity to take off his shackles.
SHADOW GUIGNOL (211) was not precocious. It is a late one. He lacked strength. He is only beginning to “come”. It is gradually maturing and will be even better next year. His latest releases bear witness to this. In addition, I was able to lighten it in its fitting. Sunday, he will have to deal with a distance performance. It’s not worse. He will be able to come from behind unlike his recent victory in La Rochelle, where he went ahead. Thanks to a good trip, he has his chance. He will then have a good start, two weeks later, as an apprentice. “
It additionally evokes GUERSLING ORANGE : “He had a period of forced rest. He did indeed have a problem at the end of last season. He went back to work. He should do his back-to-school race, in May, in Laval.”
