This new yr marks the resumption of activity for the Mauron tennis club (Morbihan)to the great satisfaction of the President Sylvain Bresson which notes a good participation in the final tournament, which happened from January 24 to February 12, 2022.
We had been fortunate to solely cancel the 2021 tournament for well being causes! That of 2020 happened simply earlier than the pandemic and this one marks the restart of sports activities conferences.
An virtually regular version
“With the evolution of the situation and the constraints, we were not sure of keeping the appointment, but the players came in large numbers, 88 players were registered in various tables, i.e. 111 in total”, rejoices the president.
The Mauronnais tournament is mostly anticipated and appreciated, each for the group, the common degree and the ambiance. “I took part in 25 editions of the tournament, since my first in 1988” remembers Sylvain Bresson who scrupulously notes all his matches in a small pocket book. Living in Beignon, “I returned to the club 6 years ago, to take over the presidency in 2020”.
“If we could not organize a table for the mixed doubles, two pairs were registered. It is the double Sarah Lutz – Olivier Guillon of TC Mauron who wins over Léa Ricordel – Guénaël Rivalin (5/7 – 6/2 – 6/0) of TC Campénéac. »
The senior singles, singles over 35s and men’s doubles were able to take place. In more than 35 years Men, Nicolas Cadic beats Tanguy Pierre (7/5 – 6/2). In Men’s doubles, an entirely TC Ploërmel final with Olivier Provost – Amélien Provost winning against Camille Boudaliez – Sivann Laurent (6/1 – 3/6 – 6/3).
“The Seniors final was of a very good standard and the suspense lasted for almost three hours and three sets”, underlined Olivier Guillon, treasurer of the club. Benjamin Poirier (TC Bois Orcan) beats Alexandre Leroyer (TC Saint-Grégoire) by 2/6 – 7/5 – 6/2.
The championship now
“The club is registered in the championship in Seniors and + 35 years, with correct results. We have a pre-regional team and aim to keep the club in the first part of the tables”. The club financed the 2021-2022 licenses after the disaster in 2020. “It is an effort which allows the players to see the solidarity within our mauronnais club”.
In parallel, the tennis college is operating properly with about forty kids enrolled. The future of the club subsequently appears assured.
