Contact Carrefour and Super U Langon are launching a new service for their customers Langon (Gironde) and of Toulenne, with reduced mobility or without means of locomotion: ” Let go of the cart! “. The customer does his shopping in one of the two stores, pays at the cash register and leaves his cart at the reception.
The shopping is delivered in the following hours by the store. It is free for 100 € of purchases and beyond or € 5 if the total purchases are less than € 100.
“This service we offer corresponds to a need”
“It’s an idea from Sébastien Garnier, manager of the Super U in Langon,” explains Yves Madrènes, supervisor of the Carrefour Contact at the Place du Général-de-Gaulle.
“Colleagues do it for senior clients, people with disabilities or who have physical constraints. It is difficult for them to take the contents of their shopping cart home. The population living in the city center has certain problems, they are old or have no means of transport. We enter a service society and proximity responds to these services. This service that we offer corresponds more than a request: it corresponds to a need. ”
The two stores are located in the city center, one in Cours Gambetta, the other in Place du Général-de-Gaulle, and respond to this local service.
“A socially important service”
“The purchasing strategy in outside stores is something else,” provides Yves Madrènes. “We every provide on-line shopping and home supply (deliveryexpress.carrefour.fr for Carrefour Contact, coursesu.com and drive for Super U), however this new service doesn’t go by way of the web. We present a further service for individuals which is socially essential. The retailer is a spot of trade that corresponds to the pedestrian zones of the metropolis heart. We purchase on website and have it delivered. ”
The supervisor of Carrefour Contact, who can be consultant of the Bordeaux Gironde Chamber of Commerce and Industry, underlines this solidarity between merchants:
“We help each other with Super U, Bernard Faugas, etc. Mutual aid faced the need during the health crisis (we provided ourselves with protective visors, we helped each other with flour, yogurts …). Alone we go faster but together we go further “
For Yves Madrènes, “industrial synergy in the metropolis heart is the finest bulwark for commerce in exterior areas. “
